Graphic Design
Minor League Report
This graphic was created to promote a weekly audio Minor League Report for the Philadelphia Phillies farm system teams, from Single-A through Triple-A. This graphic was posted to the Fightin Phils social media platforms on Twitter and Facebook. This was created using Adobe Photoshop.
Three Symbols
The goal of this project was to combine three different graphic symbols into one style identity. The first symbol will be a person, the second a place and the third an object. My inspiration stemmed from a fun time I experienced with my Pop Pop, a die-hard Phillies fan, whose has passed down his love for the game to his grandchildren. This was created using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.
Twitter Design: Sadie Robertson
The goal of this project was to find a celebrity or influencer, who has a twitter and social media presence. I chose Sadie Robertson, motivational speaker, author, and reality television star known from Duck Dynasty. Personally, she inspires me to be a better person, and I truly love following her as she makes such a great impact on the world. The colors from this design were inspired by the images. I also had fun creating the various shapes and social media icons within the design. This was created using Adobe InDesign.
Typeface Design
The purpose of this project was to choose a memorable typeface from the past and create a personalized uppercase font based on the original. A fond memory I have growing up is doing Mad Libs. They were both hilarious and a great tool to improve grammar skills. The original Mad Libs typeface is very heavy in width. I decided to construct a thinner version, while maintaining the original style via diagonal glyphs and rounded serifs. This was created using Adobe Illustrator.
Logo/Symbol/Icon Design
The goal of this project was to develop a logo/sign/symbol, and create a mock-up of a specific product. The company I created was Fairy Godmother Beauty, an all-in-one bridal beauty service offering hair, makeup, and nail services for all wedding related events. This was created using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Dimension.
Pangram
The purpose of this project was to choose a Pangram and typeface and design a layout concept, which includes a method for identifying and labeling the anatomical parts of the letterforms. A pangram is a sentence or phrase that contains all the letters of the alphabet. For my inspiration, I chose the typeface “Georgia”, because of its elegance, and ability to be read easily when printed small. I chose the colors and design since the Pangram I chose mentions “plaid jackets.” I felt that I should further support my content, by incorporating parts of it into the final design. This was created using Adobe Illustrator.
Icon Set
The purpose of this project was to create a full set of 16 stylistically similar icons that showcase continuity and uniformity. At the time, I was inspired by the upcoming Christmas season and wanted the icons to be easily adapted into social media icons or printed as stickers to jazz up wrapped Christmas presents. I took a more illustrative approach to this project and focused on the little details within each icon. This was created using Procreate and Adobe Photoshop.
Type Specimen
The goal of this project was to research a typeface and the designer to create an informative type specimen poster indicating: The name of the typeface, the designer, when/where the designer lived, notable facts, as well as all of the letters, numbers and punctuation in the typeface. I was assigned Ed Benguiat, who designed ITC Benguiat which was created in 1978 and is most well known as the typeface for the famous Netflix show, Stranger Things, set in the 1980s. This was my inspiration for the project. This was created using Adobe Illustrator.
Image As Type
The goal of this project was to understand the concept of Gestalt, and to incorporate the principles of design including balance, emphasis, movement, pattern, repetition, proportion, rhythm, variety, and unity. The assignment was to create designs which utilize letterforms to create interesting designs. I was only permitted to use black and white, which challenged me to focus on creating a fascinating design. Personally, my inspiration came from my first initial, as I thought the v-like shape of the letter “A” would help emphasis the triangular shapes throughout the entire piece. This was created using Adobe Illustrator.
